If you do not disconnect both batteries when attempting to remove the shift knob on a BMW G series vehicle, it will short out gear selector. This will cause a P button failure and the vehicle will not be able to be put into any gear. Instead of purchasing a new gear selector and having it coded to your vehicle, Infinite Autowerks has the ability to repair the gear selector.

Optional Conformal Coating Service
We now offer an optional conformal coating service as part of our BMW shifter PCB repair. This clear protective layer helps guard the circuit board against common liquid exposure such as coffee spills, interior detail spray, and other moisture-related hazards. Ideal for added durability and peace of mind, the coating helps extend the life of your repaired shifter by reducing the risk of future liquid damage. We also offer this service for completely functional shifters as a preventative measure. Please contact us if you wish to add this to your working shifter. If you are paying for a repair, it can simply be added on during checkout.
Please ship the complete gear selector to us. Not only the knob. You can choose to remove the iDrive module or keep it installed. Please do not call to confirm if we received the shifter or not. If your tracking says it has been delivered, we have most likely received it and will be processed in 2-4 business days. If there is an issue, we will contact you via phone or email. The below picture is what you need to send to us.Â
